Precision machine as an important tool in modern manufacturing industry, the level of development of the machining accuracy determines the overall manufacturing. At present, one of the issues in manufacturing industry is how to improve the precision machining accuracy. By using new magnetostrictive materials to design compensation effecting on precision machine tool feed system, we aim to reduce the error of precision machine tools and improve the machining accuracy.Based on the background of precision machine tools, this article shows the purpose and significance of the research. Combined the research situations of precision machine error compensation at home and abroad, we make our research process. According to the structural characteristics of precision machine tools, the causes of errors and the proportion of each part of the errors, we determine the thesis object, that is the error of precision machine tool feed system.Precision machine tool feed system is composed of a servo drive system and mechanical drive system. this article establishes simple structural models for each part. Based on partial structural parameters of CKA6150precision machine tools, we use MATLAB/Simulink to simulate analysis the model, thus we get the speeds and displacement response curve in no load condition and interference (cutting force) of the precision machine tools. By comparison analysis, we get the error of response curve of precision machine tool feed system, consequently, providing a precise goal to establish the compensation system.Because new magnetostrictive materials have a big telescopic stroke, high response speed and the large output force, we use this material to design compensator. According to the size of the error compensation, we determine the part of structure parameters of the compensator though numerical calculation. Through the establishment of the dynamics model of the compensator, we study the response speed, amplitude-frequency and stability characteristics, to meet the needs of error compensation. Using the least squares methods and combining with the experimental data; we get the displacement-current function of the compensation system, providing a theoretical basis for the control of the compensation system.Error compensation amount of precision machine tool feed system is the goal of error compensation. Through displacement current to control magnetostrictive compensator repairing the error, comparing the amount of errors with error compensation amount, we can achieve the feed system error bellow1μm finally. Overall we can achieve the error compensation above90%. It has a good compensation effect. Therefore, it has a great significance to reduce the error of precision machine tool feed system for improve the machining accuracy.
