The viscoelastic surfactant was introduced from the United States, and accepted byChinese market due to the creep-like gum can be broken in oil, gas and water and even noresidues. However, the traditional VES clean fracturing fluid cannot meet the needs of high-temperature deep wells because of bad surface sand-carrying and shearing capabilities whenTemperature is greater than90degrees Celsius.In this article, Studied the mechanism of theviscoelastic surfactant as the fracturing fluid thickener, According to characteristics ofgathering and twining by the viscoelastic surfactant, we select five common types ofsurfactants viscoelastic to test and evaluate. According to the results of experiments andevaluation,we find that the surfactant having viscoelastic properties and can be fracturingfluid is long chain fatty acid quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant and Geminisurfactants. Ultimately determine the Gemini surfactant as clean fracturing fluid thickenerpreferred. This type of surfactant has a good viscoelasticity, low critical micelle concentrationand more resistant to temperature than traditional VES clean fracturing fluid. Through thedesign and synthesis of a high temperature cleaning fracturing fluid thickener, Preferably asupporting temperature stabilizer and activator,test evaluation and field application inaccordance with the evaluation criteria of its water-based fracturing fluid, all of these provethat we can develope to adapt to the high temperature of100℃~120℃viscoelasticsurfactant fracturing fluid system according to this way. This new type of high temperaturefracturing fluid system follows the previous the VES system of the low damagecharacteristics, and is able to work in the Parameters of high sand ratio, low friction andhigher temperatures, and becomes very promotional value of new fracturing fluid system.
