Following the coal and oil, natural gas has become the third largest energyresources.Comparing with coal and oil, natural gas is more economical and clean. With thedevelopment of world economy and improvement of environmental protection, theconsumption and application fields of natural gas will both keep growing. Natural gas existsin gaseous form at room temperature and mostly based on gaseous form of extraction, transmission, storage and utilization. The construction of natural gas pipeline network systemreflects its service condition of a country. With the increasing number of long-distancepipelines, gas process systems faces greater challenges. This article studies the theoretical foundation and use of TGNET software simulation, including description, theoretical foundation and use of TGNET software, providingreferences for the new users. This article based on the gas process design problems that confronted at haixi natural gasnetwork second stage project (from fuzhou to fuding).Combing with the parameters ofphysical structure, user’s gas consumption and the data that pipeline provided, using theTGNET software, establish the simulation modal and calculate the steady state, dynamic stateof the gas process. Compare results of different diameter and gas transmission scheme duringprocess analysis. To ensure transmission requirements and full range of securitytasks, eventually fuzhou-fuding segment was decided to use DN800diameter pipe.
