Oily sludge is the pollutant generated in the mining and the processing of crude oil, itcan also be used as resource. The reduction and utilization of oily sludge can be achieved bythe way of burning the mixture of oily sludge and coal. In this paper, the fuel and combustioncharacteristics of the oily sludge-coal mixed fuel was studied both experimentally andtheoretically in detail.In this paper, the sedimental sludge in the tank in Shengli oil field and three kinds ofpower coal used in Huangdao power plant were used as material, making up31different coalsamples in different mixing ratios. Industrial analysis and heat value experiments were carriedout with the coal samples, the changes of the volatilizable composition, water content, ash,stabilized carbon, and releasing heat versus the types and mixing ratio of the coal wereanalyzed. At the same time, thermogravimetric analysis was used to study the combustioncharacteristic of the sludge-coal mixed fuel in detail, the influences of the combustionprinciple of the oily sludge and coal, different mixing ratios, different temperature increasingrates and the concentration of the oxygen on the mixed combustion were analyzed accordingto the TG and DTG chart. Then the combustion characteristics of the mixed fuel in differentmixing ratios, different temperature increasing rates and oxygen concentrations was studiedfrom the thermogravimetric curves and kinetic equations, including the separatingcharacteristic of the volatilizable composition, the ignition characteristics, and the burnoutcharacteristic.The correlative degree analysis were made on the parameters influence the heat value,ignition characteristic and the burnout characteristic of the sludge-coal mixed fuel with thegrey theory. The primary and secondary parameters were determined, and the different GM (0,N) models for the heat value, ignition characteristic, burnout characteristic and comprehensivecombustion characteristic were built up. The models have good simulating effect, which werethe basis of the theoretical prediction for the heat value, ignition characteristic and the burnoutcharacteristic.The mathematical model of optimized proportioning of mixed sludge and coal was built,using the proportion of the low heat value of the sludge in the gross releasing heat of the mixed fuel as the objective function, the optimum proportion between sludge and coal is5.9:4.1after calculation, which can makes full use of the oily sludge.
