In the distribution process of onshore oil and gas pipelines, the geological disastersvaries and the environmental conditions are complex, with the growing of running time,corrosion defects will eventually lead the pipelines wall to fail, therefore studying thecorrosion failure of onshore oil and gas pipelines is of great significance to improve theability to predict pipeline failure accidents and ensure the safe operation and the steadysupply.Based on the integrity management theory, the paper established the corrosionfailure causes fault tree of onshore oil and gas pipeline, and made the analysis accordingto the equivalent Boolean equations and the structural importance coefficient; anddivided the pipeline failure disaster into four parts:environmental impact, economiclosses, reputation losses and personal safety, and established the economic losscalculation equation of pipeline corrosion failure; and described the pipeline failuremodes, analyzed the comparison about of multiple linear regression analysis, BP neuralnetwork method and support vector machine method respectively in the theoreticalperspective and computing process perspective, discussed the advantages anddisadvantages, and the paper proposed the support vector machine method is moresuitable for pipelines corrosion failure. Firstly made the gray correlation analysis ofonshore oil and gas pipeline corrosion influencing factors, selected several influencingfactors as the dependent variable according to the calculated correlation values, thenmade the empirical analysis through multiple linear regression analysis, BP neuralnetwork method and support vector machine method with the corrosion rate as thetarget output function, compared the calculation results and their corresponding relativeerrors, the results proved that the corrosion rate results obtained by support vectormachine method fit the actual value better. So the gray support vector machines method provides new ideas and new methods for the onshore oil and gas pipeline corrosionfailure studies, and can also provide a basis for the decision-making on the riskevaluation and corrosion research.During the data fitting, the paper need to collect adequate information as more aspossible, verify the correctness and reasonableness of data sufficiently, in addition,whether the mathematical methods can be improved, is the next trend should be takeninto account.
