With the development of multiple extrusion technology and high performancetires, the application of rubber extruder is increasing more and more quickly. Higherrequirements on extrusion product quality, output and stability have been putforward. Rubber extruder as a key part of polymer materials processing, theequipment, particularly screw extruder technology has been received widespreadattention in the field of research, design and manufacturing, production and so on.Although the radial pin barrel extruder has been widely used in the current rubberindustry, there are many restrictions in temperature, yield, quality and other aspectsof molding process. So this kind of extruder is insufficient to meet the extrusionproducts with high yield and high plastination requirements. In recent years, manyforeign technical experts have been working on the improvement of extrusiontechnology, especially on new mixing structure and plastination style. Among thesetechnology, extruder with tangential pins has been seen as a new direction for thedevelopment of rubber extruder.In this paper, on the basis of studies about plasticizing mechanism of the pinbarrel cold-feeding extruder, we design a new hybrid type pin barrel cold-feedingextruder to solve the deficiencies and limitations of extrusion equipment andtechnology. In addition, we carry out different kinds of extrusion experiments todetect the performance of extrusion temperature, die pressure, power consumption,output in the whole extrusion process.Hybrid pin barrel cold-feeding extruder can enhance the plasticizing effect inrubber mixing process and achieve low-temperature extrusion, reduce the probabilityof scorch, and it has small restriction on screw speed can greatly increase productioncapacity. Compared with traditional radial pin barrel extruder, this kind of extruderhas higher capacity, better plasticizing effect and lower extrusion temperature.In this paper, some studies and experiments have been done as follows:1. Study on the material dispersion mechanism and plasticizing process of themixed pin barrel cold-feeding extruder, and also about physical and chemicalchanges in the extrusion process, at the same time establish relevant mathematical models.2. Through analyses the theory of mixing-pins flow field, in this paper,wedesign Φ65×12D hybrid pin barrel cold-feeding extruder, and this paper details thenew pin, barrel, nose, screw and feeding device.3. This paper uses Finite Element Method, POLYFLOW to analyses flowingstate, split type and the local temperature of extrusion field. In addition, study onlocal field made by pin, barrel, screw and pin structure, the number of preliminaryarrangement have been also carried out.4. In this paper, comparative experiments of radial pin extruder and hybrid pinextruder, comparative analysis of the glue temperature, extrusion pressure, energyconsumption have been conducted.5. Analyses the difference between pin radial extruder and hybrid pin extruder,and in the end, combined with this experiment, this paper gives some opinions aboutthe development direction of the extruder.
