With the improvement of people’s living standard,Eco-textile gets more and more concernsfrom people.In textile testing, in addition to the banned azo colorants,extractable heavy metalsand others,but also requires no fishy,musty and other special smell in the products.For theassessment of textile odor,the method of olfactory discrimination is widely used at home andabroad.The method is a subjective evaluation method,which will be influenced by subjectivefactors such as personal experience,psychological and physiological effects in the evaluationprocess,having poor repeatability and making the results be questioned.Therefore,exploring anobjective&instrumental assessment of odor should be continued to desertification.This subject of making textiles fishy:trimethylamine,dimethylamine and methylamine, toprepare fishy samples of different levels.The samples were tested respectively by the olfactorydiscrimination method,Fox4000electronic nose and Agilent7820A gas chromatography.Theodor identification critical concentration were0.9mg/L,10mg/L,0.7mg/L respectively by theolfactory discrimination method.The electronic nose sensors P30/1,T30/1,T70/2,PA/2weresensitive to trimethylamine, dimethylamine and methylamine, the detection limits of which were0.2mg/L,2mg/L,0.2mg/L respectively and the odor of which could be identified successfully byusing the principal component analysis. The odor data mappings of trimethylamine,dimethylamine and methylamine had been accumulated.The samples of trimethylaminesolution,dimethylamine solution and methylamine solution were tested by FID gaschromatography,the detection limits of which were0.9mg/L,7.0mg/L,5.0mg/L respectively.The sensitivity of electronic nose was less higher than the olfactory discrimination methodto detect the odor of trimethylamine,dimethylamine and methylamine,further the results weremore objective,so electronic nose could be used as a objective testing method to study on theodor of methylamines.
