Hmong, located in the Southwest, inhabit in the mountains with less contact over thelast millennium, their styles of dress also has lasted and remained almost same for thousands ofyears. However, with the economic development and the changes of social system, Hmong andother nations maintained frequent contacts, their styles of dress also change gradually in theprocess of communication and integration between different nations.Traditional Hmong costume characterized by their history, culture, inheritability and uniquehave fade gradually during the process of modernization. In the modern business system,Hmong’s dressing Etiquette and manual skills are destroyed by economy benefits, revealing atrend of culture absence. Inane symbols collection, optional collocation without conformingto etiquette system, bulk-production under the industry circumstances and sporadic fragmentsappearance caused by commercial interests have resulted in low quality and bizarre aestheticform of modern Hmong costume. It is the product of contradiction between modern civilizationand traditional aesthetic, highlighting culture integration and history gap under the surface. It isalso a compromise and concession that traditional costume culture adapt itself to the pace ofmodern society and financial demands. There exists a challenge which have to be faced in thecombination between tradition and modern that costume style can not survive and develop in thebusiness.The research presented in this article is establishing an effective method to adapt Hmongcostume style to modern business.Relying on the status quo in modern Miao traditionalcostumes,revolve design intervention and integration to transform tradition and future.Aneffective method should contain understanding of the local residents’ needs, continuation offractured culture, guidance of modern aesthetic design, establishment of effective relationshipaccepted by society, and so on. Hopes to arouse people’s attention to the traditional culture, make it able to form a new activation in modern society.
