Xin Jiang Mian Sculpture:A Gift In Rural Etiquette Life Research

Xinjiang County,Shanxi with a long history,has rich and colorful traditional customs.Xinjiang Noodle Sculpture has been passed down here for thousands of years,and it is still active in all kinds of ritual life.There is a local saying-"There must be buns if there is something,and there must be intentions if there is a bun." It can be seen that the new Jiang Mian Sculpture is closely related to the etiquette life of the people,and it is widely used in life etiquette and seasonal festivals,and it plays a unique function.In traditional festivals,dough sculptures are used as "tributes" to communicate the connection between gods and people,and the people who worship the dough sculptures hope to be blessed by the gods.In life etiquette,dough sculptures are used as "gifts" to connect the in-laws and maintain the relationship between the in-laws through giving.At the same time,in the process of making dough sculptures,it has also provided a place and space for the communication of the villagers and constructed a network of villagers’ relations through help.In 2008,the new Jiangmian Sculpture was successfully selected into the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List,and its inheritance and changes entered a new chapter.Under the discourse of intangible heritage,the government’s intangible heritage protection movement and the exercise of the subjective initiative of the inheritors have opened up a new form of "exhibits" of dough sculptures,resulting in new works with political significance and characteristics of the times.At the same time,driven by the market economy and the aesthetic changes of the people,commercial dough sculptures have also appeared,and they have become a livelihood method for some people in Xinjiang County.In this paper,the folklore phenomenon of Xin Jiang Mian Sculpture is meticulously described with the help of literature data and field surveys.On this basis,through an explanatory objectivist analysis of the mutual gift custom and inheritance logic of Xin Jiang Mian Sculpture,finally,the new Jiang Mian Sculpture is analyzed.The development trend of the future explored the role of the rural community of etiquette and customs represented by dough sculptures,and demonstrated the power of folk customs.This article is divided into 5 parts,the introduction part explains the origin of this research,research methods and related research reviews.The first chapter analyzes the regional environment and cultural environment produced by the new Jiangmian Sculpture,and briefly introduces the basic situation of the new Jiangmian Sculpture.The second chapter starts from the field research data,according to the oral narration of the interviews,sorts out the customs of the new Jiangmian Sculpture,and analyzes the structure and function of the new Jiangmian Sculpture.The third chapter mainly discusses the changes of the new Jiangmian Sculpture since it entered the new era.Through analyzing its inheritance logic,it discusses the contemporary value of this folk custom.The fourth chapter discusses the future development trend of dough sculpture etiquette through the perspective of the changes in the custom of donating dough sculptures.
