Natural disasters are anomalies of the nature which human society relyingon.They are accompanied by the development of human society and independentof human’s will. Since the ancient times, China is natural disaster-prone country,including the Yangtze River in Anhui during Qing dynasty.In this paper, on thebasis of previous studies, the author discusses the disasters and the people’slivelihood issues of the Yangtze River in Anhui during Qing dynasty from theperspective of disaster realm. This paper mainly includes six parts. The first part ismainly a review of academic history and explaination of the definition of theYangtze River in Anhui during Qing dynasty; the second part expounds thecharacteristics and the causes of natural disasters of the Yangtze River in Anhuiduring Qing dynasty; the third part discusses the blow of the disasters for ruraleconomy from the perspective of the impact of land, food and population; thefourth part author discusses the hazards of villagers living related problem of thesocial anomie caused by disasters; in the fifth part, mainly analyses the problemswhich are closely related to the rural life under the impact of disasters, such as,luck of food, poverty, disease and superstition; and the last part, is the summary ofthe strategies of disasters, from the two differrent aspects, goverment andnon-government.
