In this paper,we carried out the study of the regional gas control technologies underthe Xiayan mining area of Pinggang coal mine. By analyzing the theories of the gasoutburst mechanism and rules of gas flow in coal seam,also according to the geologycondition of Pinggang Mine,gas control system,the general situation of working faceand Xiayan mining area,we put forward the technical scheme that suits to the Xiayanmining area of14#coal to prevent coal and gas outburst,such as the drilling holepre-drainage in coal roadway and drilling hole along the seam in advance,according tothe study of the gas outburst mechanism and the method to increase effect of gascontrol.And the application of the theory calculation and the numerical simulation toconfirm each other.Finally we determined the parameters about the long drilling holepre-drainage along this seam.After outburst prevention,we must test regional measurebefore we drive,in the process of driving and extraction,we also need drilling cuttingsindex method to test and verify in this region,to make sure it meet the gas controlrequirements.We use many measures to control gas,such as:ventilation airmethane,drilling hole pre-drainage along this seam,gas control though laying pipe at theupper corner of coal face,drilling hole under the seam.Those measures can meet the gasrequirements of extraction.
