Since the high productivity, low consumption, space saving production line and low production cost etc, continuous extrusion technology is widely used in metal processing industry in recent years. In continuous extrusion forming process, temperature is an important factor which determines the deformation resistance of the metal, affects the life of tools such as extrusion wheel and cavity and so on. Temperature also influences the cost of production and the production efficiency of equipment, controls the metal microstructure which determines the organization and performance of the product such as recrystallization, phase transformation, metal precipitation. The extrusion temperature is the key to affect the product performance and die life.Based on the deformation characteristics, this paper divides the continuous extrusion forming process for building up temperature prediction model of the whole process.1. Using the deformation work method, according to the law of conservation of energy. continuous extrusion temperature model is established. According to the parameters in practical production case, calculation results trends verified in accordance with the actual production trend.2. With DEFORM-3D software, geometric models of continuous extrusion forming process are established to numerical simulate. Take the simulation results such as equivalent stress, equivalent strain field and the temperature distribution compared with the data of analytical calculation model, the trends match well.3. Take the same parameters in the calculation and simulation models, this paper would conduct experiments on the actual production equipment. Considering the experiment operating limits, there are only two places near the export and keep-off block could be measured. Compared with the temperatures in the calculation results, the error between them is small.The comparison of the three results shows that the predicted temperature model trends accurate, error is small. This temperature model can be used to predict the temperature distribution in the process of continuous extrusion forming quickly and effectively, which can make the reasonable prediction who effects product performance and die life come true.
