The grinding process is the important working process in the metallurgy, non-ferrous metal, cement and material industry etc. During the mineral process industry, the role of the grinding process is to liberate the valuable minerals from the discardable gangue. As such the process can satisfy ore-dressing process so that it can reclaim the valuable ingredient of ore effectively for subsequent sorting operations. The most important quality index of its operation is production particle size, which is directly influence on the quality of mineral production, the metal recovery rate and the general economical index. However, owing to the difficulty of measuring the technique indices on line of the ore size, the dynamics between the techniques and the control loops with complex natures, such as strong nonlinearity, heavy coupling and large time delay, which can hardly be described accurately with mathematical models. The technical indices which cannot be measured online continuously vary with boundary conditions. Therefore the classical PID and the conventional control methods based on mathematical models are incapable of keeping the actual technique indices within their target ranges. Advanced operation control methods must be carried out to operation and optimal control for key parameters in the production process.This thesis comes from the research for complex manufacturing process control system overall control strategy and operational control method, which belong to the "973" National Key Basic Research and Development Plan. According to the research of the intelligent supervisory operational control algorithm for grinding process, this thesis mainly design and development the intelligent supervisory control software for grinding circuit process operation, which is also based on the manufacturing process integration of control experimental platform of State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industry. The intelligent supervisory control software, which can develop and validate algorithm for the researchers, provide hands-on training and guidance for the actual industrial users, and has prospects for practical engineering applications. The main research works are as follows:(1) First, the thesis introduces the current status of industrial process control and grinding circuit process operational control. And then based on analyzing process and according to the status of the operational control in the mill, it points out some problems of operational control in mill, as well as presents the significance in developing the software of intelligent supervisory control software for grinding circuit process operation.(2) The paper elaborates an intelligent supervisory control strategy method, which is comprised of process control system optimal-setting module, size prediction module, dynamic adjustment module, mill overload diagnosis and adjustment module. The optimal-setting module optimizes the settings by QP algorithm; Size prediction module realizes the prediction of grinding size by case-base reasoning method; On the base of process control system optimal-setting module, dynamic adjustment module compensates the initial setting valve by fuzzy reasoning; Overload diagnosis and adjustment module ensures the safety of operational process by expert rules.(3) According to the composing and characteristics of control system for grinding circuit process, this paper analyzes grinding process and the intelligent supervisory control software for grinding circuit process operation, which is based on the intelligent supervisory control algorithm, which also includes requirement analysis of software, the structure of software, the function of software, intelligent supervisory control strategy and operational way etc. Owing to the object-oriented development and C/S structure mode, which makes the intelligent supervisory control software for grinding process visualization, modular, as well as configurable, reusable and universal.(4) In order to validate the rationality and validity of the software.first, this thesis constructs the semi-physical simulation platform for grinding process operational control. Which includes the grinding process operation control system, process control and monitoring system, process control system, virtual instrument and implementation structure system and virtual grinding process object. Then this thesis carries out the research for the intelligent supervisory control software based on grinding process semi-physical simulation platform. The experimental analysis based on the normal operating conditions and abnormal operating conditions testify the feasibility and validity of the control methods and algorithms in the intelligent supervisory control strategy for grinding circuit process operation.
