With the continuous development of industry standards,the machine tool has penetrated into manufacturing industries.Performance of its individual components supporting make a large impact on the precision.Rational designing the supports’ structures is an effective way to improve the machine’s performance.In this paper,established a designing method on machine tool supports which covered the physical model,the conceptual model,the main structure and stiffness performance this four modules based on research foundation of structural designing.The vertical car-milling manufacture center is a high-performance,high-precision product designed by a machine tool factory.Its composition support-beam’s length is17m in simply supported state,prone to a large deformation under extended force. Which is the weak link of the precision.Currently only adjust the deformation rely on the control system.This design is aimed at ensuring the performance and achieving lightweight to make further improve the precision.The physical model is the basis of this design method,subsequent design needs to be in the basis of this model.Establish a solid geometry model of the beam,calculation the load which the beam is bearing,impose elastic restraint simulating actual working conditions,determine the appropriate mesh size by sensitivity analysis,then complete the establishment of the beam’s physical model.Make topology optimization on the beam after setting the parameter.Establish the conceptual model which can characterizate materials.distributed according to the optimization results to guide the design of beam’s structure.Design the structure from shape characteristics,partitions characteristics and rib characteristics which is X+V property.Such the weigh from138t to124t according for8%.Evaluation module on supports’ static stiffness performance plays an important role in machine tool design.Make an effective and reasonable evaluation on static stiffness performance is important.This performance evaluation using the’single variable method’ which mean establish the evaluation modal according to actual working condition.With cutlery position deviation as the evaluation index to analysis supports’ static stiffness,establish contact with the precision directly,make the result more meaningful.
