Rigid polyurethane foam is combustible.In this paper,water blown RPUFs were prepared by adding fire retardant polyols,phosphorus-containing flame retardants and inflation fire retardants,which is flame retardant、low smoke and has a high LOI over30%.The effect of these additives and their compounded systems on the properties of RPUF such as physic-mechanical, morphological, LOI and smoke density were studied by relevant instruments. The results were as below1、The RPUFs were prepared by three flame retardant polyols mixed with TMN450respectively.It was found that the mechanical strength all decreased compared with the pure RPUF. The flame retardance has been improved. KB-251performed the best flame retardant and followed by Friol-7190. When the adding amount was80phr,the LOI were26.1%、25%respectively,which were higher than the neat RPUF20.4%. But they all increased the smoke release. Friol-7190has the smallest smoke amount.By comparing and analysising, Friol-7190showed a good comprehensive performance.So Friol-7190was chosen as the main raw materials by adding70php for the following study.2、The effects of DMMP、red phosphorus and their compounded systems on RPUF were studied. It was found that they all decreased the mechanical strength of RPUF,however,when DMMP mixed with red phosphorus at the ratio of1:2,good mechanical strength can be achieved.Both DMMP and thered phosphorus improved the flame retardancy.The LOI is26.4%and26%adding the red phosphorus25php and DMMP30php respectively. They both increased the smoke and the red phosphorus generated more.When compounded DMMP and the red phosphorus,they showed good synergistic flame retardant effect.The LOI is27.6%、27.1%when DMMP mixed with the red phosphorus at the ratio of1:5and1:1respectively. Regrettably,the MSD and SDR were also increased.3、The effect of APP/PER and EG on the properties of RPUF were studied. APP/PER and EG both decreased the mechanical strength.They both enhanced the fire retardancy and suppressed the smoke amount of RPUF.The LOI is26%when APP/PER is25php and the LOI is29%when EG is30php.The MSD of APP/PER and EG are39.85%、33.62%and the SDR are23.12、19.81respectively adding30php.In conclusion,EG performs better flame retardancy than APP/PER.4、The DMMP and EG compounded systems has better mechanical properties than EG alone.The DMMP/EG mechanical is good at the ratio of1:5and1:1.DMMP has a great synergistic fire retardant effect with EG The LOI can be as high as31.7%and the MSD is decreased to39.75%when DMMP:EG is1:5.The DMMP/EG shows an excellent flame retardany and smoke suppression.
