In this paper, the object of study was vertical looper in the strip continuousproduction. The looper system model was established. System identification method wasused to identify the dynamic parameter in the model on-line.In this paper, based on analyzing the stress of the looper system, the control systemtheory model of the looper was established. Through analyzing the form of losingtension in the looper, the model of the total losing tension was established, which wascombined with theory control model to establish the actual control model. The modelcould accurately reflect the inner stress of the looper, which had important theoreticalbasis.The Multi-innovation stochastic gradient algorithm, one of dynamic parametersidentification algorithms, was adopted to identify the dynamic parameters in the modelof the looper control system. The fast convergence speed and less computation wererealized, which was under the condition of that the results of identification was accurate.The algorithm is recursive algorithm on-line, which could gradually accurately estimatethe dynamic parameter of the model along with the time.Simulation results show that, it could be more stability for the tension fluctuationof the strip which caused by the changing of working condition of the looper byadopting the proposed model of the looper control system. Thus, the desired purposecould be achieved.
