Directed assembly of supramolecular compounds with non-covalent interactions is one of current research topic.17supramolecular compounds were synthesized with N-containing and O-containing ligands, and using single-crystal x-ray diffraction techniques to determine their crystal structures. Supramolecular synthons formed by the hydrogen bonds(such as strong hydrogen bonds O-H…O, N-H…O and weak C-H…O hydrogen bonds and so on) play a crucial role in the network for construction of new supramolecular crystals. Compounds1-17were characterized by elemental analysis, Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) and thermogravimetry analysis (TGA). This thesis are divided into five chapters. In chapter1, the recent research progress of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering, mainly focused on the effect of supramolecular hydrogen bonding on the synthesis of supramolecular compounds. Then the research purpose, significance and main conclusion on this paper were presented on this basis. In chapter2, the raw materials used, as well as the characterization and the instruments used are described. In chapter3,5-sulfosalicylic acid ligands were applied to crystallize with nitrogen ligands affording five supramolecular compounds under general conditions. They were carried out structural analysis and characterization. To explore the effect of hydrogen bonds and supramolecular synthons in their structures. Three of the five compounds are new supramolecular compounds:[(C6H6N3+)·(C7H5O6S-)]·H2O (1)[(C6H16N22+)1/2.(C7H5O6S-)]·H2O(4) [(C5H14N22+)-(C7H5O6S-)2]·3H2O(5) the other two compounds:[(C4H7N2+)·(C7H5O6S-)]·2H2O (2)[(C4H10N22+)1/2-(C7H5O6S-)]·H2O(3) have been reported. However, we use different methods for the synthesis of these two compounds and their structural analysis and further characterization. Finally we summarize the research contents of this chapter. In chapter4, piperazine/N,N’-dimethylpiperazine ligands were applied to crystallize with derivatives of benzoic acid ligands affording six new supramolecular compounds [(C8H3O6N2-)·(C4H12N22+)]·H2O(6)[(C8H5O4-)·(C4H12N22+)](7)[(C8H4O52-)·(C4H12N22+)](8)[(C8H4O6N-)2·C6H,6N22+)](9)[(C8H5O4-)2·(C6H16N22+)](10)[(C8H5O5-)2·(C6H16N22+)]·2H2O(11) under general conditions. They were carried out structural analysis and characterization. To explore the effect of hydrogen bonds and supramolecular synthons in their structures. Finally we summarize the research contents of this chapter. In chapter5, piperazine ligand was applied to crystallize with hydroxyl benzoic acid derivatives affording six new supramolecular compounds under general conditions:[(C7H5O3-)2·(C4H12N22+)](12)[(C7H5O3-)2·(C4H12N22+)]·2H2O(13)[(C7H5O4-)2·(C4H,2N22+)]·4H2O(14)[(C7H5O4-)2·(C4H12N22+)](15)[(C845O62-)2·(C4H,2N22+)](16)[(C8H2O5-)·(C4H12N22+)1/2]·2H2O(17) They were carried out structural analysis and characterization. To explore the effect of hydrogen bonds and supramolecular synthons in their structures. Finally we summarize the research contents of this chapter. The results of this thesis provide more information for application of supramolecular compounds.
