China machinery industry has been rapid development in recent years, China’s manufacturing industry level have been improved significantly, in national defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, Marine engineering, energy, mining, engineering machinery and other industries, more and more high to the requirement of mechanical products, such as high efficiency, high precision and intelligence, reliability, etc., which requires a large number of high-end machine tools to support, especially for large parts of production, makes towards heavy and super-heavy machine tool processing equipment. Heavy machine tool industry in China after nearly10years of rapid development, both in production capacity and technical level has made great progress. But, in the industry overall, heavy machine tool products in our country level is still far away from the international advanced level, is still in the international division of labor and low-end industry chain, especially in the aspect of product design, most of the current domestic machine tool plant still USES the experience, analogy design, product design and production with a long cycle, high risk and high cost. CNC gantry milling machine and high-grade heavy duty nc machine tools, the main representative, is the most important in machine tool industry the most sophisticated manufacturing equipment, determines its basic role, leading position and strategic significance, can reflect a country’s level of equipment manufacturing industry. Beam as the main bearing of ultra wide CNC gantry machine tool parts, effect on the performance of the whole machine is very big, is directly related to the machining accuracy and efficiency.Based on Weihai Huadong Heavy Industry co., LTD. SGM50type CNC gantry mobile milling boring turing machine beam as research objects. Main content is on the beam of the ultra wide CNC gantry machine tool to analyze of the forced state of a beam, determine to load the machine beam affects the most strongly, the beam finite element model is established in this paper, using ANSYS Workbench software static characteristic analysis, the maximum displacement and maximum stress under the static load conditions, through the analysis of the modal characteristics of the beam, the beam mode and the frequency and the corresponding vibration mode, and topology optimization analysis, optimize the beam design improvements according to the results of the optimization analysis, according to the optimized beam finite element modeling, the static analysis and modal characteristic analysis, compare and contrast the static characteristic of before and after optimization and modal characteristics of the data, verify the various performance is improved by optimization design in order to realize the characteristics of lightweight and high stiffness of the beam products, satisfy the production needs, cost reduction, and can improve the accuracy of machine tool, shorten the manufacturing cycle.
