In this article, composite toughening agents were firstly prepared by blending TPU with SiO2,and then flame retardant compound were gained by compositing flame retardant. Finally, flame-retardant POM with excellent flame retardant properties, excellent mechanical properties, using the methods of physical blending in twin-roll mixing machine. By studying the toughening mechanism of its flame Then use the methods of physical blending in twin-roll mixing machine for mixing, the flame-retardant POM had excellent flame retardant properties, excellent mechanical properties, The results are as follows:l.The halogen-free flame retardants MCA, MPOP, Al (OH)3, micro-encapsulated red phosphorus, respectively, were blended with POM investigated the amount of flame retardant POM with different mechanical properties of the combustion performance. Study found that micro-encapsulated red phosphorus flame retardant and MCA better than the others.2.Fire retardant POM based on the major flame, micro-encapsulated red phosphorus (RP) retardant, and melamine cyanurate (MCA) of the auxiliary flame retardant were studied. Researched the effect of the ratio and the amount of the two composition on the performance of formaldehyde.When the ratio was1:1, it had the best fire-retardant effect. And with the amount of composite fire retardant increased, limiting oxygen index (LOI) get greater. When the amount of flame retardant in POM was40%,the oxygen Index (LOI) up to34%.3.Two-step method:Firstly, composite toughening agents were prepared by blending TPU with SiO2, and then blended POM with composite toughening agent in twin-roll mixing machine. The prepared POM composite toughening materials were used to improve the impact property of POM.The results showed that:compared with those without any composite toughening agent,the tensile and impact strength of POM added composite toughening agents were greatly improved. When the ratio of POM/TPU/nano-SiO2was100/10/1,POM tensile strength was63.3MPa, impact strength was27.4KJ/m2, which increased by20%,175%,respectively compared with that of pure POM. reaching optimal integrated performance. 4.POM flame-retardant composites were prepared by blending composites fire retardant composite toughening and POM. The flame retardants dispersed uniformly in the polyurethane dispersed phase, which solved the difficult problem of poor compatibility of composite toughening agent with POM and of mechanical performance degradation while obtaining the composite materials with better flame retardant and mechanical properties. Oxygen index of the composite by26.3%, impact strength is10.1KJ/m2, tensile strength46.5MPa, its best overall performance. Polarizing microscopy and DSC analysis showed that the material significantly reduces the grain size, crystallinity increased, higher melting point. Thermal gravimetric analysis showed that the decomposition temperature of the composite system in advance, the amount of residual carbon increased.
