Steelmaking-Refining-Continuous casting (SRC) as the key processes of steel production, it consumes great amount of electrical energy. Based on the actual variable electricity price, reasonable scheduling for steelmaking process can reduce the cost of energy consumption effectively. At the same time, SRC scheduling program based on the variable electricity price can provide a reference for power supply enterprises of power scheduling.Based on decomposition strategy, we design a two-stage solution strategy which combination of mathematical programming and genetic algorithms. In the first stage, this paper formulates a mathematical programming model for one continuous casting’s furnace scheduling by using the minimum makespan as the objective without considering variable electricity price, and the model is solved by using CPLEX software. In the second stage, based on obtained relative schedules of all casts and equipment with limited resources, this paper formulates a mathematical model with objective of minimizing the energy cost for all casts scheduling problem, and designs a genetic algorithm according to the model characteristics. Based on the actual production of the domestic steel companies’ SRC task random access test cases, this paper do experiment to solve the model. The comparative analysis of the existing literature results show that the model and solution algorithm presented in this paper is satisfactory.
