Supramolecular liquid crystalline polymeris are composites of liquid crystals based on interacting of secondary bonds. Hydrogen bonding, Vander Waals interaction, electrostatic interaction, hydrophobic interaction etc. can be used for the assembly of supramolecular liquid crystalline polymers, or result the formation of extended mesogen. In a variety of weak interactions, hydrogen bond is a moderate-intensity. It’s highly selection, direction and saturation make it a ideal force that stabilizes and constructs a supramolecular structure.In this paper, six monomers were synthesized, which included4,4’-(decanedioylbis(oxy)) dibenzoic acid(M1),4,4’-((4,4’-(decanedioylbis(oxy)) bis(benzoyl))bis(oxy)) dibenzoic acid (M2),4,4’-(adipoylbis(oxy)) dibenzoic acid (M3),4,4’-(decanedioylbis (oxy)) bis (3-sulfobenzoic acid)(M4),[1,1’-biphenyl]-4,4’-diyl diisonicotinate (M5), pentane-1,5-diyl diisonicotinate (M6). P1was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of sebacic acid, Brilliant Yellow and4-4’-Biphenyldiol. P2was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of sebacic acid, Isosorbide and4-4’-Biphenyldiol. P3was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of sebacic acid,1,4-Butylene glycol and4,4’-Biphenyldiol. P4was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of the monomer M1, Brilliant Yellow and Hydroquinone. P5was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of the monomer M2, Brilliant Yellow and1,4-Butylene glycol. P6was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of the monomer M1, Brilliant Yellow and4,4’-Biphenyldiol. P7was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of the monomer M3, Brilliant Yellow and4,4’-Biphenyldiol. P8was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of the monomer M3, Brilliant Yellow and Hydroquinone. P9was synthesized by the condensation polymerization of the monomer M1, the monomer M4, and Hydroquinone. Supermolecules N1-N5was synthesized through self-assembly of M5and P4, P6, P7, Ps, P9that contain sulfo groups. Supermolecules H1-H5was synthesized through self-assembly of M6and P4, P6, P7, Ps, P9that contain sulfo groups. These monomers, nine series of liquid crystalline polymers and ten series of supramolecular liquid crystalline polymeris have not reported both at home and abroad. So the studies of the paper are original.The structures and properties of the obtained liquid crystalline monomers, supermolecular complexes, LCPs and supermolecular polymers were investigated by FT-IR spectroscopy,1H-NMR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM). their structure-property relationships were iscussed in detail. The results are that the liquid crystalline polymers P4、P6、P7、P8、P9are nematic liquid crystalline polymers and the ten supramolecular liquid crystalline polymeris’ temperature scope become wide.Not only they have important theoretical value, but also provide the condition for dynamic function characteristics of supramolecular LCD device.
