The plate products are the main products in iron and steel industry, they are widely used in various sectors of national economy. Plate rolling process is a complex process, related to the roll stand, roll, strip and many related ways. The mass accuracy of strip shape (plate flatness and convexity) is an important indicator to measure product quality, In order to get the law of the change shape with various shape disturbance factors and control factors, the full nature of the strip rolling process and the theoretical basis of shape control could be studied. The dynamic simulation model of the four-roll mill in this paper was established to simulate the relationship between sheet shape and a variety of factors, in order to better to predict and control the strip shape.For studying and analyzing the impact of four-roll mill shape factors, firstly, according to the functions and main technical parameters of rolling mill, established a three-dimensional model. Secondly, structure static analysis and vibration analysis for the key parts of this mill were completed by ANSYS software, and then the stiffness and strength properties of the key parts meeting the design requirements were verified. Thirdly, the rigid-flexible coupling model of mill system was created by making use of the interface technology of PRO/E, ADAMS and ANSYS, then its vibration analysis were preceded, identified vertical vibration factors caused by strip width, system damping and rolling force, the main factors of self-excited vibration. Finally, forming process of rolling strip was dynamic simulated and analyzed by making use of ANSYS LS-DYNA software, obtained the stress and strain distribution of strip rolling process, detailed analysis of various rolling conditions such as bending force, tension, friction coefficient which impact on the shape of rolling process, so as to obtain the optimal conditions and provide theoretical basis to improve the shape quality.The comprehensive results of vibration properties and forming process simulation of the four rolling mill were analyzed, the main mode of self-excited vibration of rolling mill and the vibration cause of rolling stand were determined, obtained the law of improving vibration properties by increasing system damping, reducing strip width, reducing rolling force and improving the shape quality by increasing tension, increasing bending force, reducing friction coefficient, the favorable theoretical guidance and technical support for system structure optimization design and technical parameters selection were provided.
