Aiming at solving problems such as high-cost, low-accuracy, low-efficiency andlabor-intensivein machining the small-size, porous and multi-process parts ofautomotive, bearings, pneumatic components, painting equipments, air hydraulicmachine, molds, sports equipment and other industries, thisthesis researches anddiscusses the key technologies of a vertical drilling and milling machine of CNC turret,whose functionsis between ordinary CNC drilling machine and vertical machiningcenter,and designs the machine.Firstly, the thesis determines the overall plan and arrangement form of the machine,selects the appropriate cutting parametersaccording to the design requirements,conducts detailed calculations for the main technical parameters of the machine, selectsthe appropriate spindle motor anddesigns the base ofmachine, laying a good foundationfor further research and design of the machine.Secondly,the thesis conducts in-depthresearch on the internal structure of the machine’s key components--turret center, usesthe3D modeling software--SolidWorks to map out thecorresponding modelsofthree-dimensional solidand assemble,on this basis,analyzes the tool-change processand principle of the turret center, to find out the shortcomings of the existing turretcenter, and designs a new tool-change trigger mechanism, which effectively results inthe decrease of tool-change time andthe increase of machine-machiningefficiency.Thenthe thesis conducts detailed design for the feed transmission mechanism of machine,and combines the cross slide table and the turret center’s own Z-feed mechanism,toachievethe machine’s three-axis feed. Then the thesis conducts the detailed design forthe machine’s control system, selects the appropriate specifications for its criticalcontrol devices, and conducts in-depth research on the key problems of the spindlemotor’s control of high and low speed,tool-change control, PLC programming and soon, solving the main problems of machine’s control.Finally, the thesismakes a summaryfor its contents and makes a prospect of the future of the machine designed.The turret machineresearched and developedin this thesis,fills themarket gapsbetween ordinary CNC drilling machine and vertical machiningcenter. Through six spindles’ turret, the machine can achieve tool’s rapid andautomaticchange during machining, and complete themachining of drilling, reaming,reaming, countersinking, tapping and plane milling and other processes with one-time fixture.Therefore, themachine reduces machining time, improvesproductive efficiency,reduces labor intensity, and improves accuracy of machining byavoiding the errorscaused by multiple times fixture.It can be widely used in high-efficiency andhigh-precision machining of small size, porous and multi-process parts,andthe actualapplication shows that the machine meets the design requirements, and has a goodmarket prospects.
