In the chemical field, the rotating bed has been widely used.It has the advantages of high efficiency in mass transfer, simple structure, stability in operation and adaptation for a variety of workplaces. Because of this, it has a brilliant future. Based on the old rotating bed of Dalian University Of Technology, we improve and design a new structure named with double move and full baffle rotating plate bed. Compared with the old plate, the innovation lies in changing the traditional Zigzag Rotating Bed movement baffle "one to one point five" setting into the "one to two" setting. The moving baffle is fully used and it improves space utilization. More, the new machine is rotational, symmetrical and stable in operation. Compared with the old plate, there are big advantages.In our task, we mainly finish manufacture, building the platform, making experiments, analyzing experimental results and stimulating flow path.(1) Experimental results about dry gas pressure dropWith gas flow rate and rotor speed increasing, the dry gas pressure drop improves. Especially, when the gas flow rate increases, the improvement of gas pressure drop is obvious. While, when the rotor speed increases, the improvement of gas pressure drop is not obvious. The gas pressure drop will decrease with the space between two trays becoming small. But adding the space between two trays infinitely is not a good way to decrease the pressure drop. There is a maximum value between two trays. The rotor diversion has some influence to the pressure drop. The pressure drop with same direction is obviously lower than the pressure drop with the opposite direction.(2) Experimental results about wet gas pressure dropIn the experimental results, with the gas fluid rate improving, the improvement of wet gas pressure drop is obvious. However, with the liquid fluid rate improving, there is little improvement of wet gas pressure drop. When the rotor speed increases, the wet gas pressure drop decreases. After a while, it will increase again. With the space between two trays increasing, the wet gas pressure drop decreases gradually. But there is not too much influence about it.(3) Simulation results about dry gas pressure dropIn the paper, we use software "Fluent" to simulate the flow distribution of the new rotating bed. With gas to be the main medium, the simulation results and the experimental results are the same. The simulating results are a little lower than the experimental results. (4) Comparison between the new and old trayThe new tray has some advantage of the old tray. Compared with the old tray, the new tray is symmetric, moves stably. The pressure drop of new tray is smaller than the pressure drop of old tray. The new tray makes full use of moving trays and enhances the mass transfer.We study the flooding of the rotating bed. With the gas flow rate the flood flow rate, the flood flow rate, the rotating speed increasing and the space of two trays decreasing, the resistence of the flooding becomes small.
