Polyformaldehyde (POM), also known as Super-Steel and Steel-Match, is one of engineering plastic, and has excellent performance and can be made into many kinds of components as a substitute for most metal.and has broad market application prospect. On the basis of in-depth analysis on POM technology, production capacity, market demand and development prospects at home and abroad, This topic carried on the process design and experimental research for40000tons/year POM engineering plastics in TANGSHANZHONGHAO company, and choose proper POM process technology, studying on POM modified production technology to special plastic and engineering enlargement.The main research is as follows:1. Process technology of POM manufacturers at home and abroad were systematiclly researched, and TANGSHAN ZHONGHAO company use Korean PID company POM process technology. On the basis of the technology, and carry out the adaptive technology modification research.2. TANGSHAN ZHONGHAO POM modified production line is designed based on researching for POM modified formula.3. POM reinforcement modified experiments is carried on for such as tensile strength, tensile modulus and flexural strength of POM. The results show when glass fiber addition is25%, tensile strength, tensile modulus and flexural strength of POM increase respectively by101.6%,345.0%and120.5%.4. POM high tenacity modified research show that notched izod impact and breaking elongation of POM were greatly improved. When TPU addition is30%, breaking elongation of POM increase to106%.5. POM Anti-UV weathering modified research show that the stasbility of POM were greatly improved compared with not modified POM. When light aging time is1000h, POM flexural strength retention rate reachs108%.6. Gray card ratings experiment show that Gray card ratings of modification POM and without modification POM both are4, but not modified POM can be clearly observed with surface white spot after uv-irradiation in the experiment, modified POM has not obvious change.7. POM abrasion resistance modified research show that POM friction coefficient drops dramatically after adding lubricant molybdenum disulfide, PTFE and silicone oil respectively. When PTFE addition is10%, POM friction coefficient drops to the least at49.2%. In addition, POM decomposition will appear in the process of adding MoS2, the corresponding stabilizer need be added.
