The iron and steel enterprises are typical mixed flow forming industries, with thecharacteristics of various product categories and complex constraints. Being in themarket economical environment, in order to realize the goals of continuousproduction, effectively use the fruits of the iron and steel equipment, and as well as toachieve the aims of improving the production efficiency, reducing the cost andobtaining the most profits, the iron and steel enterprises has to make it an eagerunder-solved issue that to deal with the problem of the dynamic and intelligentdecisions of production plan.Among the various issues of the iron and steel production plan, the order planissue has been through the whole process of the production, which is an importantfactor that decides whether the production can be effectively completed or not. Thispaper will begin from the analysis the processes of production order planning onironand steel. By analyzing the business process and the factors which is needed to beconsidered when making order planning, the tree-like representation is used todescribe the structure information. According to the characteristics of domainknowledge, the object-oriented method is adopted to represent the issue’s domainknowledge. After the research of order plan model, it is represented by the method ofobject-oriented knowledge representation. Finally, the order plan scheme evaluationrule base is established to evaluate the performance of order plan scheme adopting theforward reasoning method. On this basis, the decision support process of iron andsteel production order plan based on knowledge representation is put forward.In order to support the intelligent decisions of order planning, decision SupportSystem of iron and steel production order planning is designed on the basis ofknowledge representation and knowledge-based modeling method. The system isdesigned in using the developing technology of C#and ASP.NET together with thedeveloping tools of Visual Studio, Microsoft Access. With the human-computerinteraction thought as well as the decision goal that the decision makers aim toachieve, the system will build model and obtain the results in using the algorithm,then reference engine evaluate the alternative scheme and the best scheme will beoffered to the decision makers to help deal with the iron and steel production orderplan.
