Thin slab continuous casting and rolling technology is one of the most important technical progress in the steel industry.Pendulum shear,which is used to cut the head and the tail of the slab or cut the slab to a predetermined length,is an important equipment on the production line.There is great impact on production if the pendulum shear dose not running normally,so it has great theoretical significance and practical value to make dynamic analysis and evaluation on the pendulum shear.This paper choose the pendulum shear on a continuously cast slab production line of a steel plant as research object,it has introduced the working principleof pendulum shear and analyzed the cause of top cutting malfunction.Dynamics simulations of the shearing process are made based on rigid-flexible coupling technology.Focusing on the crankshaft and the swing frame,the reach contents are asfollows:Multi-rigid body dynamics simulation is made and the results give the track and the speed of the major parts of the pendulum shear;Dynamics analysis ofrigid-flexible coupling is made when only the crankshaft is flexible body or theswing frame is,the results show the stress distribution and the deformation of the flexible bodies and give the force curves of the key connections;Dynamics analysis of rigid-flexible coupling is made when both the crankshaft and the swing frame are flexible body,the results show the stress distribution and the deformation of the flexible bodies,it also give the force curves of the key connections;Dynamics simulation with designed maximum shear force is made to evaluate the carrying capacity of the pendulum shear.The simulations show that the pendulumshear has good carrying capacity and the flexible bodies have enough strength and stiffness for normal production.Weather the crankshaft or the swing frame is consider as flexible body will impact the stress and force both on themselves and the other parts.This paper has a guidance meaning for the design、transformationand maintenance of the pendulum shear.
