As a kind of traditional energy, coal still plays an integral role with the development ofsociety nowadays. With the development of science and technology, the degree of automationof coal mining equipment is increasing. The electric traction shearer whose whole weight islarge and structure is complex, is the core equipment of mechanized mining face, in face ofincreasing productivity requirement, what’s more, the effective running time of electrictraction shearer directly affects the product capacity of mechanized mining face.The working environment of electric traction shearer which is very complex and worse,the stability and structural strength of electric traction shearer travelling mechanism has a vitalrole for its working without trouble. This article mainly focus on the electric traction shearertravelling mechanism, combining with the mechanics of machinery and based on the TRIZtheory, to have the mechanical characteristics analysis for electric traction shearer, and gets athorough understanding of the force discipline and failure reasons of travelling mechanism’spin-rail-gear, guide shoe and teeth-pin-row in the actual operating conditions.Through the analysis of the engineering problems involved in electric traction Shearertravelling mechanism, use the general engineering parameters to describe the problems, totransform it into general questions. By using of Altshuller contradiction matrix to havecontradiction analysis of practical engineering problems, find out the root causes of conflict,and using the recommended invention principles to solve the contradiction one by one, finallygive the universal solution to solve the problem. Combining with practical engineeringproblems of travelling mechanism, transform universal scheme into specific innovationdesign of traveling mechanism. By establishing fuzzy evaluation system and having a fuzzycomprehensive evaluation for the traveling mechanism innovation design, finally determine the best design innovation and analyze its rationality.Combining TRIZ theory and fuzzy evaluation theory, and apply them to solve theengineering problems of electric traction shearer travelling mechanism, can find the best wayto solve the problem and determine the best innovation design. With the solving of theengineering problems for electric traction shearer travelling mechanism, it will greatlyenhance the working reliability and ensure the product capacity of mechanized mining face.
