Fast, lightweight and highly efficient of the car facilitates people’s daily life,people’s needs and aesthetic preferences of the car are changing and upgrading, theseimpel the rapid development of the automotive industry and new vehicle typeemerging. In the various components of an automobile, auto cover has thecharacteristic of updating fast and short cycle market, but the new cover’s design,production and manufacturing need more time. From beginning to design model tomaking the desired product is a very complex process. So, reducing production cyclebecome car enterprises’new challenge.Stamping is the base of producing cars’ cover. The product quality of stampingstage determines the subsequent stages’ product quality and production progress. So,technology design of stamping stage plays an important role in the cycle ofautomotive design and manufacturing and is a key factor to improve the covers’exploitation speed and quality.With the constant matureness of computer technique, finite element analysis andcomputer technology continue to combine, stamping simulation technology hasbecome a powerful tool of covers’ design and production, with the same as actualtryout process, simulation process is also a constantly debugging mold process andadjusting the forming technology parameters, mature simulation technology can greatly cut back the number of test, and this can greatly cut down the exploitationcycle of new products. In the conditions of fierce global auto industry competition, toget better performance, lower cost, more competitive products, computer aidedengineering and other engineering and manufacturing information technologies havebecome an important means of modern enterprises to win the competition.Simulation technology is evolved on the basis of the finite element analysistechniques. The basic idea of the finite element is discreting a unitary structure that tobe analyzed into a number of sub-units, by a certain way,these sub-units areconnected integrally through the boundary nodes, converting the complex fieldfunctions on a continuous area into a limited the freedom problem of the nodes on theboundary, thus resolved by simultaneous ordinary differential equations or algebraicequations to solve problems and simulate the whole process of change.This article choose AUTOFORM as simulation software, AUTOFORM’scalculation algorithm is implicit algorithm, easy to convergence. Membrane unit hashigh calculation speed, can not calculate bending and springback, shell unit calculatesslowly. Using membrane units gets on forming simulation, adopting shell unit carryon springback calculation.This artical takes rear top reinforcement plate on the automobile’s left anteriorside as an example for stamping simulation. Simulation process use single actiondrawing, select square plate as sheet, adopt500t presses. Drawbeads, BHF, frictioncoefficient, punch and die gap and other panel forming process parameters should beselected and designed to achieve the best forming quality. The pieces select theparameter is that BHF is110t, the friction coefficient is0.1, punch and die gap is1.2mm, drawbeads uses a annular and mutative drawbeads.There are seven kinds of state in forming simulation results of the parts, sevenkinds of state are represented by seven colors: red represents splits, orange representsexcess thinning, yellow represents risk of splits, green represents safe, gray representsinstuff strech, blue reprents compress, purpul reprents thicking. According to theabove parameters, most region of the rear top reinforcement plate on the automobile’sleft anterior side are in the security green zone, and there are tiny areas of risk of split and compress, and small areas of instuff strech. Based on the above parameters, wegot qualified products in the actual production.Springbck is an inevitable phenomenon in all formed parts, this artical takes reartop reinforcement plate on the automobile’s left anterior side as an example forspringback simulation, The maximum amount of springback of the part are within thespringback tolerance range, comply with the requirements of forming quality.The simulation of rear top reinforcement plate on the automobile’s left anteriorside describes that sheet metal forming simulation is efficient and practical and willget more promotion and application.
