With the manufacturing industry to the workpiece speed, accuracy and quality of the increasing demand, high-quality machine tools is a prerequisite to achieve precision machining, precision machine tools so the research people are constantly in-depth, continuous progress. For machine tools, especially for high-precision heavy duty horizontal lathe, the spindle assembly is affecting the performance of the core components.Cutting capacity and quality of processing machine to a large extent depends on the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle assembly, while its dynamic and static characteristics are also an impact on the machine to keep the workpiece machining accuracy of the key factors.Therefore, the structure of the spindle assembly, moving constantly in-depth study of static characteristics for future work to further improve the performance of the machine has a crucial importance.This article relies on the Qinghai tripod heavy machine company’s project on the development 400 T heavy horizontal lathe series. The main use of finite element analysis, performance analysis of the dynamics spindle components of the project, get their static and dynamic characteristics, combined with the theoretical calculation of comparative analysis, provide a reliable basis for the subsequent actual work.The main contents include:1. Analysis of the form and the spindle forms part of the structure of different spindle, heavy duty lathe used to determine the structure of the spindle and the spindle assembly by contrast.2. Obtain relevant information from the literature to calculate the cylindrical roller bearing stiffness formula to calculate the stiffness of the support bearing spindle; bearing preload analyze the impact of each on the bearing stiffness, spindle stiffness; using ANSYS software to support bearings finite element analysis, get the stress and deformation under working load.3. Spindle stiffness formulas to calculate the stiffness of the spindle heavy vehicles; by finite element analysis, get the spindle at the work load stress and deformation; and through the spindle modal and harmonic response analysis, study its dynamic characteristics. Provide for future work spindle static and dynamic characteristics.
