In this paper,polyester and polyester-cotton fabric were treated with pad process and coating method to develop decorative fabric on bullet train.The flame retardant effect could meet the request of the NF F16-101-1988 standard and Boeing BSS7239 standard.Especially the coating method,it could stop the molten drops effectively.First of all,the flame-retardant treatment on polyester was discussed.We got a optimum technology:the mass ratio of phosphate-retardant and PES was 2:1,the total concentration was 120g/L,pH was 5-6,preliminary drying at 100℃for 2min,baking at 190℃for 2min.After dealing with such a technology,smouldering time and flaming time were both Os.The length of carbonization was less than 8cm.The LOI of polyester fabric rose from 22.5%to 32.3%.Density and toxicity of smoke were also qualified for the lever F2 in NF F16-101-1988 standard.The flame retardant effect was still good after soaping for five times.The flame-retardant treatment of polyester-cotton fabric was on the basis of the polyester flame-retardant finishing:the mass ratio of the multiple foamy retardant(mass ratio of phosphate-retardant and PES is 2:l)and DPN was 65:35,the total concentration was 250g/L,the concentration of 6MD polysulfide resin was 60g/L,pH was 5-6,preliminary drying at 100℃for 2min,baking at 170℃for 2min.After dealing with such a technology,smouldering time and flaming time were both Os.The length of carbonization was less than 10cm.The LOI of polyester-cotton fabric rose from 18.4%to 32.5%.Smoke density was qualified for Boeing BSS7238-Smoke Generation test and the toxicity of smoke was also qualified for Boeing BSS7239-Toxic Gas Generation test.The flame retardant effect was still good after soaping for five times. Fire retardant CJ-1,nano-silicon and the thickeners were added into the cationic water-based polyurethane to preparation flame retardant coating adhesive.The amount of cationic water-based polyurethane was 60%,the amount of the fire retardant CJ-1 was 30%,and the amount of nano-silicon was 2%.The rubberizing amount was 200g/m2 for polyester fabric,and 250g/m2 for polyester-cotton fabric.After dealing with such a technology,smouldering time and flaming time were both 0s.The length of the carbonization was less than 6cm.The polyester fabric didn’t produce molten drops.The LOI of polyester fabric rose from 22.5%to 25.9%,and the LOI of polyester-cotton in fabric rose from 18.4%to 27.2%.Smoke density and smoke toxicity of polyester fabric were also qualified for the lever F3 in NF Fl 6-101-1988 standard.For the polyester-cotton fabric,the toxicity of smoke was qualified for Boeing BSS7239-Toxic Gas Generation test.The mechanism of the flame-retardant treatment was studied by the way of thermo gravimetric analysis,differential thermal analysis,elemental analysis,and so on.After treated,the onset temperature of polyester could be lower,there would be molten drops when the temperature was not so high,and the molten drops could take off a great amount of heat.Besides there were lots of PO、PO2 and HPO2 in the gaseous phase and fixed phosphorous compound in the solid phase when the fire retardants were resolved.These small molecules could seize the free radicals in the gaseous phase.The fixed phosphorous compound could make the coal bed compacter and reduce the amount of flammable gas.Expanding nitrogen-phosphorus fire retardant was used in the coating method.The coating would melt and foam under high temperature,and the decomposition gas could turn the coating into a non-flammable cellular carbon foam layer which was at least ten times thicker.It could cut off the heat source.In addition,NH3,H2O etc.would be formed from the coating when it was burring,they could dilute the combustible gas and O2 in order to suppress the combustion.
