Nowadays, the methods of continuous dyeing using reactive dyes are two phases Pad-Dry-Pad-Stream (P-D-P-S), shorted wet steaming process, cold pad-dyeing and one phase P-D-P-S. Compared with other technologies, shorted wet steaming process has more advantages and gives less pollution. Neutral electrolytes should be added into the solution in order to enhance the fixation and reduce percentage of the dyes resolving in the water. Electrolytes cause a serious of pollution can’t be ignored and hard to deal with. The technological process, energy consumption, more importantly, and the dependence of dyes on electrolytes can be under control using shorted wet steaming process with high temperature. In this paper, the technology of continuous dyeing with ECO reactive dyes using no electrolytes was discussed. To improve the low dye fixation and K/S values in salt-free shorten wet-steam process,we were studying the variations of the surface temperatures of the fabrics, to analyze different forms of water contained in the cellulose fiber; revealing the relationship between liquid rates of the fiber and temperature, relative humidity in the steamer also the time of steaming, optimizing process parameter mentioned above how to influence the dye fixation and K/S values. Analyzing the instantaneous surface temperature and the liquid rates of the fiber demonstrated dyeing theory of the reactive dye. All above work is to decide an appropriate technology which can improve the dye fixation and K/S in wet-steaming dyeing. In shorted wet steaming process with higher temperature, no salts added can also get a high fixation and K/S values, and colored fabrics’ color fastness meets the customs’ requirements. We have found the best shorten wet-steam process of Anozol(?) ECO Red using the method of orthogonal experiment. Based on the fabric’s water content and the relationship between heating temperature, humidity in the steamer and heating time is considered, the suitable conditions for wet-steam dyeing experiment as orthogonal factors were chosen. Final result of the systematic analysis of orthogonal experiment, not only can get the optimum process combination of various dyes, but also further informed whether the three kinds of factors on the dyeing properties of wet steam process is sensitive or not. In real production, controlling the results of the most sensitive factors can reduce the differences between batches.
