Data mining is the frontier research topic in the information field and database technology, is recognized as one of the most promising key technologies. Data mining involves the mathematical statistics, the fuzzy theory, neural network and artificial intelligence, can achieve high technical content, but is not easy to achieve. As an important part of the advanced management mode, human resource management have increasing attention by the various fields. Human resource management face huge amounts of data, an urgent need for a technique to discover valuable knowledge, talent development strategies for the development of decision support. Data mining applications in human resource management has many advantages, how to use data mining in human resources management is studied, introduced the processes of using data mining in Human Resources Management.Development of the coal enterprises in China played a pivotal role in national economic development, with the coal enterprises of the changes in the external environment, human resources have become the company's core resources, to find ways to strengthen the human resources management of coal companies, consider design a human resource management system consistent with its own characteristics, and introduce data mining into this system.After the study of modern human resource management theory, this paper study the data mining theories, especialy the clustering algorithm, combined with the features of coal enterprise human resource management, use the unified modeling language (UML) to model the coal enterprise human resource management system and analyse function of the system, with emphasis on data mining system's analysis and design. Finally, based on sample data clustering analysis, K-means algorithm is applied as an example of the application of data mining system, the final excavation to have some valuable information.Finally, the direction of further work are briefly discussed.
