Research On The Development Issues Of Urban Commercial Banks In China

As the outcomes of China's financial system reform, the operation and management of Urban Commercial Banks go with birth defects due to historical reasons, small scale, poor asset quality, weak anti-risk ability, which restraint the development and expansion. With the support of government and the efforts of its own, the capital adequacy of Urban Commercial Banks have reached the standard until December 31,2008, the business type innovation, operational methods and philosophies have also improved significantly. This indicates that Urban Commercial Banks have made significant progress after reform, has developed a booming force in urban financial and an important force supporting national economic development, which survival and development adapt the needs of the times. With the deepening of financial reform and full liberalization of the banking industry, facing with fierce competition, the research on how to seize opportunities, meet challenges and continue promoting the better and faster development are the important issue that Urban Commercial Banks need to study. Whether in terms of advantages on their own or the requirements of function on macroeconomic to the Urban Commercial Banks in the banking system, the research on the management role of Urban Commercial Banks has significant meanings.This paper is divided into four parts; the first part reviewed the literature on the reform and development of Urban Commercial Banks at home and aboard, summarized the domestic and foreign researchers'strategy perspective view on the survival and development of Urban Commercial Banks. The second part review the characteristics, survival status and formation process of Urban Commercial Banks; the third part points out the problems in the Urban Commercial Banks at present; the last part put forward the proposal of promoting the development of Urban Commercial Banks.
