| Strong agricultural growth has been a consistent feature of countries that have successfully managed to reduce poverty. Indubitably, agriculture plays a foundational role in the development of national economy. Israeli agriculture is indeed a fascinating story; against all odds it managed to develop and evolve into a viable and sustainable sector overall by exploiting initially, small core competences that reaped big competitive advantages.Through the literature review of advantages in trade, the role of innovation as well as analyzing strategies adopted by Israeli government to promote sustainable and equitable agricultural development at the national level and the changing approaches for supporting agricultural innovation, this paper seeks to assess the key factors that support the development of Israeli agricultural and to make suggestions to China in strengthening the innovation to improve agriculture. |
