The Research Of Economic And Social Factors Of Developments And Constructions In New Urban Areas

Before the reform and opening, it is the principal way that city in China enlarged itself by extending along its fringes and filling up these fringe areas along the traffic main lines. In the 80s of 20th century, the development and construction of our cities mainly focus on all kinds of Economic& Technological Development Zones and Gardens. Since the 90s of 20th century, the extensive exploitation and construction of Shanghai Pudong New Area has given a theoretic and practical support to other cities for large-scale development.Base on the background above, this thesis has taken Kunming as an example to analyze how the economy and society elements affect the new area's forming and developing, and also paid attention to those coming changes towards economical and social activities after the Kunming new area is formed. This thesis points out that economical growth is the reason and approach to exploitation and construction of Kunming new area, and the society development is the aim and attribution. For the exploitation and construction of new area, we should manage the relationship between economic growth, also balance the short and long term profit.There are five chapters in this thesis. The first chapter describes the backgrounds of the Satellite Towns'construction both at home and abroad, and introduces the general rules, agents and types of the exploitation and construction of a city's Satellite Towns.Chapter 2 introduces the current status of the exploitation and construction of Kunming's Satellite Towns, which analyses the effects of Satellite Towns towards the use of land, productivity on the spatial layout and composition of city life through horizontal comparison of Satellite Towns in other cities and longitudinal research of years' exploitation and construction of the Satellite Towns.Chapter 3 coordinates and analyses the economic driving factors in exploitation and construction of the Satellite Towns, which discusses the three critical reasons and its development and evolution:appreciation of center land-basic motivity; coming profit-inducement; government finance support-institutional assurance and method. What we may tell from is that the three main reasons combine together as the economy power to push exploitation and construction of the Satellite Towns forward. Chapter 4 coordinates and analyses the society driving factors in exploitation and construction of the Satellite Towns, which discusses the four closest factors to the residents-living, mode of production, means of livelihood and traffic organization, which from different levels affects the sustainable and harmonious development of the Satellite Towns.Chapter 5 is the conclusion, which points out the economy driving factors are the main reasons of the exploitation and construction of the Satellite Towns, and the social factors reflect the gained and losing. If we handle the social problems well, it will affect the economic growth and promote the development of the city. But if we only pay attention to economy, ignoring the social factors, it will depress good potential and right direction of the economic growth.
