A Study On The Development And Countermeasure Of China's Auto Financial Leasing Industry

The past thirty years have witnessed a rapid development in China's auto industry. According to the China Automobile Industry Association's latest data, both the production and sales of automobiles in China exceeded 1.3 million in 2009, the highest in world auto industry. Compared with the great development in the production of automobiles, China's auto financial service is obviously lagging far behind, which will inevitably affect, to some extent, the sustainable development of the auto industry. The auto financial leasing, as an important part of the auto financial service, is a useful financial instrument which can promote the auto production and sales and stimulate auto consumption. Currently, auto financial service has made a great success abroad and has become a popular financial service, especially in the United States, where the rate of automobiles purchased by means of the auto financial leasing is over 30% in the US auto market. However, in China, the auto financial leasing has long been underdeveloped. What can be attributed to such underdevelopment? What a gap is it between China and America in the auto financial leasing service? With these questions in mind, I choose"A Study on the Development and Countermeasure of China's Auto Financial Leasing Industry"as the title of my dissertation.This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one introduces the background and significance of this topic and reviews relevant researches on it home and abroad. Chapter two is a summary of auto financial leasing. It tells the difference between financial leasing and operating leasing. Chapter three gives an overview of the auto financial leasing industry in the United States, summarizing the development experience of American auto financial leasing industry. Chapter four analyzes the strength, weakness, opportunity, threat of China's auto financial leasing industry through SWOT Analysis. Chapter five puts forward some suggestions on boosting the development of China's auto financial leasing at both the macro and micro levels.
