Study On Mechanism Of Agricultural Technology Innovation In Which Farmers Are Assumed As The Main Body

In recent years, as China increases investment in agricultural research, agricultural technology achievements increase in a rate of 7000 pieces annually and by contrast to this, only 40 percent of these can be used into practice. The results of high-yield farming techniques and low conversion rate should be taken into our consideration. The reason why there existing such a great gap reflects that we have some misunderstanding on the creative body. The reviews previously just put great emphasis on the government, research institutes, and system of technology promotion. Farmers are passive recipients of technology innovation; farmers'active role in technological innovation was neglected.Innovation of agricultural technology in which Farmers are assumed as the main body should respect for local farmers and knowledge, and the farmers can be involved in the whole process of technological innovation. The farmers are both technology suppliers and demanders. Innovation of agricultural technology in which Farmers are assumed as the main body is inner power for rural development. It has great significant on creative culture, on improving the agricultural technology innovation system and new rural construction. At present, successful cases of innovation have appeared in Shouguang, Qingzhou, Taigu, Leting and other places in China. Many agricultural technologies also received the national patent. However, Innovation of agricultural technology in which Farmers are assumed as the main body has not aroused government concerns. It has so many choke points; its development to be a mature innovation model of agricultural technology requires a long process.Literatures previously put farmers as passive recipients of technology innovation, rarely research on independent innovation of small farmers. Although scholars make great research on farmer participation in agricultural technology innovation, all from the perspective of research institutes, emphasis the involvement of farmers in researches. The peasants are not main bodies of agricultural technology innovations. This thesis assumes that the driving force of technological innovation comes from farmers, the farmers has the ability and capacity of innovation. For the agricultural technology relatively simple, such as improved farming methods and changes in fertilization, farmers are better suited as the main body, this supplies a new respective for agricultural technology innovation research.This thesis includes seven parts, the basic structure and main contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction; it describes the background, purpose and significance of this research, and makes a review of domestic and foreign literatures;The second part mainly describes the basic conception and theory of innovation of agricultural technology in which farmers are assumed as the main body. First, four concept including technology innovation, agricultural technology innovation, innovation of agricultural technology in which Farmers are assumed as the main body, traditional agricultural technology innovation. And then the basic theories used in this thesis are introduced, such as theory of agricultural technology innovation, participation theory and the theory of endogenous development.The third part mainly talks about the current status of innovation of agricultural technology in which Farmers are assumed as the main body. This part describes the current status of innovation of agricultural technology from the perspective of supply, demand and diffusion, and summed up the main characteristics of agricultural technology innovation in which farmers are assumed as the main body.The fourth part mainly makes a comparative analysis on traditional agricultural technology innovation and innovation of agricultural technology in which farmers are assumed as the main body. Both of the two have differences on the innovation body, the basis for selection of innovative technologies, and the innovation model. This part analysis the existing problems in traditional agricultural technology innovation and introduce the advantages of technological innovation in which farmers are assumed as the main body from the perspective of raising conversion rates and promoting rural developmentThe fifth part analysis the existing problems of innovation of agricultural technology in which farmers are assumed as the main body. The successful cases come into being in China, but it is not standard yet. Farmers are assumes as the main body of innovation has not been supported by effective system and mechanism, farmers willingness is disturbed and confined by traditional farming modes, the technology supplies and demands are not guided by market, these are the main problems.The sixth part of the thesis puts some proposals on how to promote innovation of agricultural technology in which farmers are assumed as the main body. The government should support and guide the researchers participating in the innovation; technology model households should play an increasing role in technology innovation.In the end, several conclusions are made; this part also points out the inadequacies of the research and makes future research prospects on innovation of agricultural technology in which farmers are assumed as the main body.
