As Asia's two largest developing countries, China and India's GDP and their bilateraltrade have been growing steadily recent years. In today's economic globalization, there mustbe economic and trade cooperation opportunities between the two developing countries. Andthe countries have their own industrial development model, which makes it possible toindustrial complement and carry out two-way trade.Chinese and Indian leaders have always been paying great attention to bilateral tradedevelopment, and have made many statements. In 2009, when Chinese Premier Wen Jiabaotaking part in the meeting in Copenhagen December 18, he said that the total population ofChina and India is more than 2.5 billion. Unity between the two countries, cooperation andcommon development in line with the fundamental interests of both sides of Asia's peace,stability and prosperity are essential. China is willing to join hands with India to promote thebilateral strategic and cooperative partnership for continuous development. Singh also saidthat the 21st century will be Asia's century. It is inseparable from India and China'ssustainable development. India-China relation is of strategic significance. Indian sincerelyhopes to work with China on deepening friendship and strengthening cooperation. On theother hand, due to the similarities between the two countries' trade structure, competitivenessis also plagued the development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. As a result,competition and cooperation both exist at the same time. How to play their advantages,further tap potential for cooperation will be the key to promote Sino-Indian economic andtrade cooperation.This content is divided into four parts. The first part describes the trade theoretical basisbetween the two countries, including the theory of comparative advantage and intra-industrytrade theory and the theoretical basis. The second part deals with the present status ofSino-Indian trade and gives a brief introduction to the Sino-Indian bilateral trade growth rateand size. The third part explores the development of Sino-Indian bilateral trade from themicro to the macro level, the basis of practice and particularly the existence of complementaryin bilateral trade. The last part puts forward some suggestions on how to promote Sino-Indiantrade and economic cooperation on the basis of the analysis above.
