The dissertation used some methods, such as behavior event interview, thematic analysis, transcript content analysis, to research the competency of postgraduates.It explored the competency model of postgraduates, constructed the postgraduate competency questionnaire and assessed the level of postgraduates'competency.The following conclusions are induced:(1)There are thirteen traits in competency model of postgraduates:self-confidence, self-esteem, self-control, flexibility, responsibility, interpersonal understanding, achievement orientation, professional knowledge and skills, information gathering, communication, initiative, team collaboration, analysis of thinking.The assessment resulted from self-evaluation questionnaire shows that this model suitably outlines the competencies of the postgraduates.(2)Depend on the pre-primary postgraduates'competency model, the study developed the questionnaire "the self-evaluation of postgraduate's competency".The result shows the questionnaire has the good reliability and validity. It is a valid and reliable questionnaire.(3)By using "the self-evaluation of postgraduate's competency" to assess the level of postgraduate's competency.The research result shows that their competency is comparatively satisfactory and meets the "basic compliance level".There are no significant differences in competency with genders.Professional and grades are major significant factors to influence the competency level.
