On December 12, 2009 Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone was officially approved by the State Council, marking the construction of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone rose to national strategy. This is the new China was founded, our province the first regional development plan rose to national strategy, it is a major milestone in the history of Jiangxi Province, has significant and the profound significance to realize Jiangxi to rise the new spanningThis article elaborates the present situation of economic development and spatial patterns in Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone from agriculture, industry, city and tourism and so on. Based on the existing eco-economic zoning correlation theories, considering the social, economic, ecological Indexes, using principal component analysis and cluster analysis methods, the functional division of the partition Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone can be studied. According to the physical geography and social economic factors and characteristics of their internal relations which constitute the space combination of similarities and differences, and to the combined effect of the interaction of these factors as indicators for the division, combined with lake cities a functions, as well as counties to the central city accessibility. By quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone can be divided into six functional economic areas, which take regional city as the center.
