The Development Strategy Study For Shanghai Electric International Fire Equipment Co., Ltd.

Shanghai Electric International Fire Equipment Co., Ltd. (Abbreviations: SEIFC) has a long history and glorious past, has created many firsts in the history of the Chinese fire protection industry.With the gradual marketization of the national fire protection industry, SEIFC, who has accustomed to the planned economy, has been in a difficult situation in recent years, because of the fierce market competition. There has been a loss year after year. In spite of the strategic adjustment in 2005, the situation is slightly better, but the loss-making situation has not been completely changed.In this thesis, SEIFC has been considered as the research object. By using the enterprise strategy management theory and strategic analysis tools, such as PEST analysis, five forces analysis model, SWOT analysis, etc., the author conducted a systematic study on the company's external macro environment, industry environment and internal environment, in order to explore the business opportunities and threats facing and find out the company's strengths and weaknesses, aims to find out the source which cause the recent passive situation.Based on the previous strategy analysis, two alternative development strategies of SEIFC have been discussed. After weighing the pros and cons of two strategies, the author suggested a'reverse strategy', which need take two steps. Then, he put forward some sub-strategic proposals for every step. Finally, to ensure that the reverse strategy would be achieved, the safeguard measures, which should be taken in the process of implementation, were briefly discussed.According to previous analysis, this article gives some suggestions on the company's development strategy adjustment, aims to help the company to gut out the difficultThis paper aims to help SEIFC to reposition its development strategic, solve the practical problems faced, so that the company can go out of the difficult situation, and create a brilliant future. Meanwhile, we hope through this research, we can give some ideas and provide some reference on the development strategies study for the related fire protection industry companies and the similar companies like SEIFC.
