Research On Industrial Characteristics, Motives And Effects Of Foreign Anti-dumping Against China

For a fairly long period, the anti-dumping has been a hot topic in Chinese foreign trade. As a protective measure, the anti-dumping, frequently against our export enterprises, not only makes our enterprises suffer huge losses, but also gives a heavy blow to our dominant industries. It does harm to our industries' upgrading and developing and has become a major obstacle to our international trade. Currently, foreign anti-dumping is mainly targeted on our common metal, chemical, electromechanical and textile industries, etc. The degree of anti-dumping varies from industries, and so does the impact. Therefore, a deep research on the motives and effects of the foreign anti-dumping against China attaches a practical significance.From the industrial point of view, the thesis establishes adopts the comparative advantage index. By dividing the export industries into resource-intensive, labor-intensive and capital-intensive industries and combining the investigation data of anti-dumping of various industries, the thesis analyses the industrial characteristics of developed and developing countries'anti-dumping against China so to generalize the differences and similarities of anti-dumping against China between different economies. On the basis of industrial characteristics, the motives for anti-dumping of developed and developing countries against China is analyzed from a plutonomy respect. The conclusion is drawn that the industrial groups with powerful strength, sufficient capital can significantly influence the decision-making of the government.On the basis of theoretical analysis, we take the anti-dumping of America against China in common metal industry as an example. First by adopting principal component analysis, we do the empirical analysis on the factors that influence the industry anti-dumping in order to extract the main factors. Then we use the method of stepwise regression, principally explores the effect of the main determinants on the anti-dumping against China. For America is a representative developed economy, its anti-dumping has a strong demonstration effect, so a great reference value therefore presents. Finally, on the basis of analysis and empirical study on the influencing factors, the paper studies the relevant strategies on how to deal with antidumping and gives some advice.
