Study On Vendor Managed Inventory Coordination Management Under Supply Chain

The inventory management is all important contents with in the supply chain management, a good inventory management model can lower the total cost of the supply chain, exaltation supply chain operation efficiency, increment supply chain and the participants'profits. Practice shows that Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is an advanced supply chain inventory management model, it can effectively decline inventory, reduce cost, improve to be out of stock and raise service levels. But VMI itself also have some defects, needs to coordinate in the process of implementing from different aspects.This paper research the coordination management of VMI from supply chain and inventory management angles. Firstly, it analyzes the background, significance, purpose and method of the study, as well as elaborates the research content and innovation. Then, it outlines three basic theories which include the supply chain inventory management, the bullwhip effect and the VMI, summarizes the domestic and foreign research present situation about the supply chain inventory management and the VMI, and analyzes the causes and influence of the bullwhip effect. Following, based on the analysis of traditional inventory management and combined with the characteristics of supply chain, points out the problem of traditional inventory management in the supply chain and briefly introduces three kinds of supply chain inventory management model in this paper. Next up, the paper discussed detaily VMI one of these supply chain inventory management models, includes its basic ideas, implementation patterns, advantages and defects, and mainly analyzed the defect of VMI-namely the uneven distribution of income and the supplier's responsibilities and rights unequal through quantitative description and mathematical model. Finally, faced with the defect of VMI, respectively building the VMI coordination management model based on the rebate and the third-party logistics, at the same time solving and analyzing the model, finding out the theoretically rebate interval, drawing the conclusion. The research's result of this paper prove that the two VMI coordination management models play a positive role in solving the defects of VMI model, reducing the supplier's inventory cost, improving supplier and retailer's participation enthusiasm and promoting effective implementation of the VMI.In the end, according to the present situation of domestic enterprises, the paper give some suggestions about VMI coordination management respectively from the principle of VMI implementation, the premise, the profit distribution etc. aspects, summarize the research contents, point out the problems and the insufficiency in the research and picture out the further study in the future.
