Beginning at the environment analysis of apparel industry nationally and internationally, this paper describes the trends of China economy development from the original export-driven experience which used to be very successful, considering the global economy fluctuation since finance crisis. Then, this paper cares about the apparel industry's future. International experience shows that globalization makes the regional competitive advantage more specialized, and that the demand and supply relationship for clothes is no longer the same as it was. Based on the argument for the importance, necessity and feasibility of China apparel industry upgrading, this paper regards upgrading as the choice for China apparel industry.Cases studies of the famous listed companies gave us an image of the typical business patterns in China apparel industry. Further comparison between those patterns makes us better understand the enterprise innovation on business and makes other enterprises good examples on business patterns' decision making. Neither the lower-price strategy nor the lower-labor cost is the permanent advantage. Those companies contribute their success to the innovation on business patterns. Specifically, they make proper investment to gain future profit while efficiently manages the Capex.Finally, this paper follows the logic of Du Pont analysis and further addresses the conclusions we've got through case studies. Using statistical tools to test the conclusion, this paper plans to come out with the main point for more general usage with data support.
