As for the pillar industry, it has gone through such stages:dominated by light industry, by heavy industry, by assembling and fabrication industry, by indistinct pillar industry. The overseas direct investment of manufacturing industry didn't lead to the depression of domestic industry, as the investment trend was influenced by the macroeconomic situation home and abroad, and met up the requirements of the industry development. The manufacturing industry played an important role in the whole development of Japanese industries after the war due to its distinctive development theory and active industry policy. As an important part of socialist market economy, Chinese manufacturing industry functions as a pillar in the economic and social development, and has reached a special stage of heavy industrialization. During the time of rapid development towards higher-level industry, Chinese manufacturing industry is also confronted with many problems. In light of experience and lessons from Japanese manufacturing industry, Chinese manufacturing industry should attach great importance to the following five problems.
