In the early 20th century British Labour party enter the UK political stage as a new political force, and during the next 100 years time, Labour from one "class party" represented only working-class interest gradually developed into "constitutional party" represented the interests of the voters, and become one of the two major parties, British Labour mainstream ideology during the transition, there were multiple experienced labor socialist to socialism and then to the "third way". In the development process, the mainstream ideology play an important influence in the labour party's inside and out side policy formulation, which is particularly obvious is Labour's economic policy.Under the influence of mainstream ideology,the economic policy formulated by labour have success and fault, the result also affects the UK economy and the development of the Labour party, the problems we encountered in China's current economic development are similar to those the UK encountered in the economy development process, researching on this issue has important significance for us to develop economy and make economic policy.This paper is divided into three chapters, main contents are as follows:the first chapter basically introduces labour's formulated economic policy and achievements,with labourism as the mainstream ideology and under the influence of it,. First the first quarter introduces the UK economy at the beginning of the 20th century,the development of the British industries and her international status and expounds the economic background whenthe British Labour party established. In the second quarter, it mainly reviewed the history of the Labour party's ideas the main contents of the labourism and explore the reason why labourim become the mainstream ideology at that time in the complex Labour internal factions. The third quarter mainly described until 1918 Labour's formulated economic policies under the influence of labourim ideology, including the class tax increases for food, against tariffs, railway nationalization, executes minimum wage standard, these economic policies fully reflects the requirement of the labourim, for the maintenance of the broad worker's direct economic benefits, fully embodies the Labour party "status" of the"class" party. As Labour's development needs change as well as the limitations of labourim, Labour mainstream ideology changes.The second chapter mainly expounds that, from 1918 to 1983, after Labour's mainstream ideology became socialist and in its own power and status enhanced cases, labour formulate and implement various economic policy to deal with various problems in the UK economy development. The first section first expounds the origin and content of British socialism, this section time span is from 1918 to 1945, in this period due to the world economic crisis in 1929, the second world war and Labour to minority party's position, under the influence of the mainstream ideology,although they put forward a country of industrial democracy control, national finance reform, increase commodity profits, the private enterprise shall carry out necessary "rationalization" economic reform demand, but no specific implementation external conditions ,so achievement is not very obvious. The second quarter are expounded that ,from 1945 to 1951,labour firstly obtained parliamentary majority by election and became the ruling party parliamentary majorities and Labour how to formulate and implement economic policy, of which the most important was nationalization, in addition such as in domestic unemployment, and domestic trade imbalances, international finance on issues Labour are achieved good results. The third quarter mainly expounds ,from 1951 to 1970, because of the deep-seated problemsthe in British economy, "English disease" highlight how, the Labour party in overcoming internal struggles and competition with conservative and the implementation of he economic policy characteristics of socialist to save the UK economy, and analysis the Labour party economic policies'gain and loss. Due to in the contradiction between the "class party" and "constitutional party" two identities, the restraint in the implementation of economic policy by the Labour party slowly become apparent. The fourth quarter mainly elaborated ,from 1973 to 1983, Labour implement the "science and technology development economy" proposed by Wilson but didn't succeed, due to the left-wing struggle, the Labour party implement with radical colour economic policy, including expanding public ownership, strengthen economic plan, control the import, improve public spending and exit eurpean union, which are collectively referred to as "alternative economic strategy ", but people did not very support, Labour gradually find mainstream ideology will ultimately obey political pragmatism, economic policy to "left" to "right" can obtain very good effect, should go on a new way.In chapter 3 it mainly expounds achievements and errors labour make in the economic aspectunder the guidance of the concept of the "third way" from 1983 to end of general elections in 2010.The first quarter mainly expounds the reason why Labour chose the "third way "as Labour's guiding ideology and the origin of the third road, the second quarter mainly elaborated after entering the 21st century, the continuation of "the third way, how the Labour party made great achievements in economic terms with the third way, and also comments on the economic policies of the Labour shortage. In the third quarter -it narrates facing 2008 international financial crisis the Labour party how to deal with it, and points out that it is the economy policy which is not keep up with the times change that lead to the Labour party'latest step down.Conclusion is obtained from the macroscopic aspect.it was summarized that in the more than 100 years since the establishment of the Labour party mainstream ideology in the different historical stages how to influence the formulationof Labour economic policies ,it is concluded that ideology can only cater to economic changes, and cannot guide social trends and overall economic development trend, thus can only too much attention to reality problem rather than ideology, Labour economic policy is to follow the capitalism constantly changing the inevitable result of the constitutional system, Labour's economic policies can only walk the path of pragmatism to success.
