Research To The Causes And Countermeasures Of Trade Imbalance Between China And America

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the U.S.in 1979, the Sino-US bilateral trade in goods showed a continuous growth trend except for a few years. According to Chinese statistics, Sino-US trade volume in 1979 was 21.5 billion U.S. dollars, and by 2010, the two sides are each other's second largest trading partner, bilateral trade volume rose to 385.3 billion U.S. dollars,. As China-US trade relations Increase closely, bilateral trade imbalance between the two countries has become the focus of trade relations.According to Chinese statistics, Sino-US trade in 1993 appears in the surplus at the first time, the amount of 62.8 billion U.S. dollars, since then the scale of China's trade surplus grow fast year after year (except 2001), especially since China's WTO accession. By 2010, the volume has reached 181.27 billion U.S. dollars. Sino-US trade imbalance is the result of the deepening of the international division of labor, especially the new triangular trade pattern.The role played by china in East Asian production networks is the world's assembly center, which expanded China's exports to the U.S.. The evolution of Sino-US trade balance is closely related with the historical background. Political and security needs, stage of economic development and trade policy orientation of the role of factors contributed to the Sino-US economic and trade relations in different periods, resulting in a different scale and nature of the bilateral trade balance. In recent years, Sino-US trade imbalance has gradually become a political issue from an economic issue, leading more and more China-US trade friction and not conducive to the healthy development of bilateral political and economic relations.
