"Food is the basis of people", food consumption is one of the most important components of consumer expenditure. With the increase of consumption level, more and more people are willing to enjoy meals outside. When the food industry faces so great opportunity, however, it has to face the fierce competition of foreign food industry, the low level of consumer loyalty and lack of talents. What should Chinese food industry do in order to make use of the opportunity and face the challenge, and then developing more quickly and stably? This report analyses three China mainland food companies:Xi'an Food, Quanjude and Xiangeqing on the base of strategy and development. Due to chose different strategies, their development paths were totally different. The aim of this report is to analyze and compare their development strategies, and then sum up their success and failures, thus providing countermeasures and suggestions for companies which want to be listed in the near future, and their future strategy formulation and adjustment will be on the base of this.This report starts from the strategy management theory, describes strategy formulation, strategy choose and strategy implementation which are three element of strategy management, these texts are the theories basis of the whole report. Next it analyses macroeconomic environment, food industry environment and competitive environment of Chinese food industry, it includes factors which can push development of Chinese food industry, also some other factors which are obstacles of development. And then analyzing their strategies carefully, meanwhile, comparing them from some factors, for instance, comparing their development strategies from strategy approach and business region; comparing their strategy operation from financing, talents, and cultural marketing and logistics system; and then on the basis of financial index, comparing their strategic effectiveness. On the basic of the analysis an comparison of three companies and the development trend of Chinese food industry, it sums up the opportunities and challenges of Chinese food industry. Finally, it provides the countermeasures and suggestions about financing, logistics system and talents for companies which want to be listed in the near future.
