Knowledge Map is an intelligent knowledge management tool, which can establish the linkage between the subject and resource, as well as their relationship to form a dynamic and variable network structure. The vibrancy of knowledge management activities can result in the infinite flow of information, and the randomness of information increases the difficulty of access to knowledge. For the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge, it is necessary to establish a well-structured and fully functional knowledge map in order to facilitate the exchange of subjects, reveal the interdisciplinary association and promote the domination of recessive knowledge. Currently, the existing knowledge map systems mainly adopt the traditional retrieval methods using keywords and hierarchical directory structure. However, users usually cannot be satisfied with the retrieval results, thereby affecting the wide use of the knowledge map and the effective communication of knowledge. Based on these considerations, the present study introduced the ontology technology, which combined the normative with unity advantages of ontology. It intended to start with the type of subject knowledge, in order to establish a subject knowledge map model basing on ontology. Moreover, an ontology knowledge base was built from the angle of knowledge engineering. Finally, an effective disciplinary knowledge map was formed.This paper studied the construction of ontological knowledge map basing on the National Social Science Fund project "Social network embedding angle in the virtual enterprise knowledge sharing theory and empirical research (08BTQ023)". Firstly, the relevant theories and technologies of knowledge management, knowledge map, and ontology were studied, which was the theoretical basis of knowledge map realization. Secondly, the basic characteristics, representation and logical expressions of disciplinary knowledge were elaborated in detail according to the analysis of the traditional knowledge map modeling method and the existing problems. Furthermore, the static and dynamic theoretical models were built individually with ontological significance basing on the static and dynamic characteristics of the disciplinary knowledge. At last, the ontological disciplinary knowledge map was established. Subsequently, approach of the disciplinary knowledge base was proposed on the base of ontological engineering perspective combining with the seven-step method in the process of ontology building. The method mainly includes:requirement analysis, ontology structural analysis, ontological instances, formalized representation of ontology, and ontological evaluation and evolution. On the basis of stringently following these five-step, the visualized functions of disciplinary knowledge map were revealed gradually. This paper presents influencing factors of disciplinary knowledge map's performance evaluation, according to these factors to establish the evaluation criteria of disciplinary knowledge map, and then using bibliometrics and social network analysis tools that test disciplinary knowledge map, which verifies the knowledge map effectiveness.
